About Me
Oh hey, you found me! Welcome to my blog! My name is Saudia and I write book reviews and other book-related content. I decided to start this blog in 2015 as a way to have a one-woman book club. You know when you read a really great book then have a compelling discussion about it in your head? Well, welcome to my head! I also want to help people discover different books that they may not usually pick up. You’ll notice that some of my posts are not book reviews. Basically if I experience something that even reminds me reading, like a hotel stay, I’ll write about it.
The Woman Behind the Curtain
In my day to day life I recruit engineers for tech companies. I’m an introvert in a very extroverted field and I regroup throughout the day by reading. I fell in love with books when I learned to read. I love them so much that my first job ever was in my public library. My parents actually complain that I read too much. Can you believe that?
Books are expensive, how can you afford them?
Ha, I can’t. I get 90% of my books from my public library and I encourage others to do the same. I’d say the other 10% is split between used book stores and books I receive in exchange for reviews. I also borrow from friends whenever I can. If I read a book and find it truly moving or it offers a form of escapism that I crave, then I buy it to keep in my collection.
Favorite Genres
Psychological Thriller, Fantasy, General Fiction, and Young Adult. If it’s dark and twisty or emotionally draining then I’m going to read it. I break up the melancholy with a few non-fiction books here and there.
